How to REPLACE media

About the media Replace functionReplaces an existing media file with a newly uploaded file of the same name.

The new file inherits all of the characteristics and settings from the old file including fencing, playlist/campaign settings, duration, tags, etc.  Using REPLACE, you won't have to spend time doing those things manually (and maybe forgetting something).

Very useful if you need to fix a typo in a graphic or make changes to a video. 1.

Where to find the REPLACE commandYou can access the replace command from two different places, but they both work the same way.

Thumbnail Menu Hover your mouse pointer over the thumbnail menu of the file you want to replace.

Select Replace.

Bulk Actions Menu Select the file you want to replace by left-clicking in the top left corner of the thumbnail.

A checkmark will appear in the circle to show that the file is selected.

Click the  ACTIONS  button.

Select Replace a Media File. 2.

Confirm your choice Click  YES  in the bottom right corner to agree.  To cancel the operation, click Close X in the top right corner. 3.

Upload the new file Drag the new file to the upload window  -or

  • click the  +ADD FILES  button to open your system file browser and select the new file.  
NOTE

The new file name MUST match the old file name EXACTLY or you will get an error message and the file will not be uploaded.  Click the  UPLOAD  button in the lower right corner.   You should see a message in the bottom right confirming the upload was successful 4.

Finished!You may want to verify that the new file has all the characteristics of the file it replaced.

You should find it in the same playlists or campaigns, playing for the same duration and with the same fencing restrictions as the old file.
