4G Cellular Dongle Installation

To bypass restrictive corporate firewalls or physical cabling limitations, Everwell players can use a dedicated 4G USB modem to communicate with our servers.

IMPORTANT
  • Cellular plans have a strict 2GB/month data cap.
  • Streaming services (like YouTube or Vimeo) should not be used on cellular connections.
  • Cellular modems must not compete with local networks (Ethernet or WiFi).

Setup Instructions​

Step 1: Prepare the Player​

Ensure absolutely NO Ethernet network cable or WiFi configuration is connected to the player. The 4G dongle must be the sole source of connectivity.

Step 2: Connect the Dongle​

Plug the USB 4G dongle into the player's USB port (either the blue or black port is acceptable).

Step 3: Mount the Hardware​

Attach the dongle to the player or TV chassis using the provided Velcro. You may need to adjust the location slightly if you experience signal interference.

Step 4: Power On​

Connect the HDMI cable to the TV and plug the player into a power outlet.

LED Status Indicator​

Observe the LED on the 4G dongle to verify connectivity:

  • Solid Red: Starting up / No signal.
  • Blinking Blue: Successful cellular data connection established (typically takes 3 to 5 minutes).
