Disabling HDMI-CEC
Many modern televisions feature HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), which allows connected devices to automatically power on or change the inputs of the TV.
Because the Everwell player runs continuously, this feature can cause the TV to turn on unexpectedly or fight for input dominance. We recommend disabling it.
Vendor Names for HDMI-CEC
Every TV manufacturer uses a different marketing name for this feature:
- Samsung: Anynet+
- Sony: Bravia Sync
- LG: SimpLink
- Vizio: CEC
- Panasonic: VIERA Link
- Philips: EasyLink
- Sharp: Aquos Link
Disabling Instructions
Step 1: Open TV Settings
Use the television's native remote control (not the Everwell remote) to open the TV's core Settings Menu.
Step 2: Locate HDMI Options
Navigate to the Setup, System, or HDMI Settings section.
Step 3: Toggle OFF
Locate the manufacturer's specific HDMI-CEC control setting (using the names listed above) and toggle it to OFF.
